The prettiest railway station in the country

Railway stations in India, for long, have always evoked thoughts of dirty platforms, congested alleys and similar images. If any of you have travelled into Sawai Madhopur recently, I am sure you will all disagree with this generalisation.

We had read about the beautification of this station done a few months back and, on our trip to Ranthambore, we did want to spend some time taking pics of the art at the station before we left. The quality of the painting done by the Ranthambore School of Art is impressive.

And this is accentuated by the high level of maintenance of the station and its surroundings – they definitely do enhance the beauty in these images.

The next time you make a trip to Ranthambore, I would urge you to take the train – it is worth it.
